Sen. Paul, Rep. Gaetz Endorse Kari Lake for Arizona Senate Seat

Republican candidate Kari Lake, who is running in the Arizona Senate race, picked up endorsements Monday from Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.

"Kari Lake will go to DC to shake things up, and that's exactly the kind of leadership that Arizona needs in the United States Senate," Paul said in a statement. "I am proud to endorse Kari Lake for the United States Senate because she has the policies, the drive, and desire to defeat the Washington War Machine and restore American liberties."

Gaetz wrote in a statement: "Kari Lake is MAGA to her core and cannot be bought by the establishment. I am proud to endorse her for the United States Senate in Arizona. I am very much look[ing] forward to watching her shake up the halls of power."

Lake, in a statement, said she is "thankful" to receive the endorsements of "America First warriors" Paul and Gaetz, whom she called "champions for fiscal responsibility, liberty, and fighting against the Washington War machine."

"I look forward to working with them to implement President Trump's agenda," she said.

Lake, heavily favored in the race against Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb for the GOP nomination, is expected to square off against Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., in November for the seat currently held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz.

Sinema's seat has been rated as a "toss-up" by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. The incumbent independent has not said if she will run for reelection.

According to The Hill, the majority of Lake's endorsements have come from allies of former President Donald Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Key GOP figures in Washington also support Lake, including Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., the third-ranking member in the Senate Republican leadership, and Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., chair of the Senate GOP campaign wing.
