Senate committee chairs are expected to brief their Republican colleagues Wednesday on some of the stickier parts of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed by the House, Politico reported Monday.
This comes as GOP senators try to iron out President Donald Trump's signature legislation.
Republicans held a similar meeting last week with committee heads, but that was to talk about the less contentious parts of the bill.
This time the senators are expected to be briefed by committee chairs who have not yet unveiled their portion of their party-line package regarding tax cuts, border security funding and energy policy, according to Politico.
Senate Finance Chair Mike Crapo of Idaho is hoping to be among the Republicans updating colleagues on the GOP's tax priorities, as well as alterations to Medicaid and potentially Medicare.
That meeting may be delayed amid sticking points such as the cap on state and local tax deductions.
Similarly, Senate Agriculture Committee Chair John Boozman of Arkansas is also hoping to brief the conference on Wednesday.
However, he's facing pushback to a House proposal that would require states to cover part of the cost of federal food assistance benefits known as SNAP. In addition, the committee is finding it difficult to reach the $150 billion in net savings Senate Republican leaders are pushing for in the agriculture part of the legislation.
The attempt to release written details of the plan to fellow Republicans in the Agriculture Committee on Wednesday is looking arduous as more governors in the past few days raised contention with the cost-share proposals.
