Trump Signs Peace Deal: 'Incredible Day for the World'

Monday, 13 October 2025 12:42 PM EDT

Mediators Egypt, Qatar and Turkey signed on Monday with President Donald Trump a document on the Gaza ceasefire deal.

The document was signed during the international summit hosted by Egypt in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh on the deal.

Trump hailed the historic peace agreement between Israel and Gaza on Monday, calling it “an incredible day for the world” and a testament to the power of regional cooperation.

Speaking at the signing, Trump praised both Israeli and Arab leaders for what he described as an unprecedented show of unity to bring long-awaited stability to the region.

“This is an incredible day for the world, let alone the Middle East,” Trump said. “This took 3,000 years to get to this point. And it’s going to hold up.”

Trump thanked the international media for what he described as respectful coverage of the moment, while joking that he wished such treatment extended to other issues.

“I just wanted to thank the media. They really treated it with respect,” Trump said. “I wish you could be like that on other things, but that's perhaps too much to ask for.”

The president said the peace deal came together through mutual determination among leaders in the region who were “tired of chaos” and wanted to “get Gaza straightened out.”

“Some of the greatest people you'll ever meet really care for their countries,” Trump said. “They all came together and they wanted to get Gaza straightened out. Once they got together and once we started talking, it went — to me — it went smoothly. It went so smoothly.”

The signing came a little more two years after Hamas terrorists murdered 1,200 people and kidnapped more than 250 people to Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023.

Trump, who brokered the Abraham Accords during his first term in office, described the new Israel-Gaza agreement as a continuation of those efforts, aimed at expanding peace and prosperity throughout the Middle East.

Regional leaders in attendance hailed the deal as a landmark step toward long-term stability, with discussions already underway on broader economic cooperation.
