Trump Urges Wisconsin to Vote for Judge Schimel

By    |   Tuesday, 01 April 2025 11:42 AM EDT

Following up on the millions of cash and sweat equity already put in by Elon Musk in Tuesday's elections in Wisconsin, President Donald Trump urged Badger State voters to the polls and repeated his endorsement of Judge Brad Schimel for the state Supreme Court.

"WISCONSIN: There is a very important Referendum (Question 1) on the Ballot to amend the State Constitution to require VOTER ID," Trump posted Tuesday to Truth Social. "This, and other Election Integrity measures, including banning Drop Boxes, and Same Day Voting with Paper Ballots, can only happen if you GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY!"

Musk, whose Department of Government Efficiency is overseeing Trump's unprecedented cost-cutting campaign at the federal government, has become a central figure in the race. He held a rally Sunday night where his main super PAC, or political action committee, handed out $1 million checks to two petitioners who will be used as get-out-the-vote voices in the state.

Musk, who spent more than $250 million to help Trump win election in November, also promised to pay volunteers $20 for every voter they recruit before Tuesday's election.

"I think this will be important for the future of civilization. It's that significant," Musk said at Sunday's rally.

One of the key races might determine the balance of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court, which currently has a 4-3 liberal edge. There Schimel, a county-level judge, has the endorsement of Trump against liberal and other GOP-backed opposition for a 10-year term in a key battleground state that will be fighting over drawing redistricting lines for future elections.

"For State Supreme Court, make sure to Vote for America First Patriot, Brad Schimel, against Susan Crawford, a Radical Left Liberal, with a History of letting child molesters and rapists off easy," Trump added on Truth. "She will be one of the most Liberal Judges ever elected, which would be a DISASTER for Wisconsin and, the United States of America.

"SO IMPORTANT — PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE YES ON QUESTION 1, AND VOTE FOR BRAD SCHIMEL TO THE SUPREME COURT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Trump added a link to SwamptheVoteUSA.com, a website that urges voters to the polls, saying "the fate of Wisconsin is in your hands."

Should he win, Schimel's seat will be on a court likely to issue critical rulings on voting rights and election rules ahead of the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential race, when Wisconsin is expected to remain a central battleground. Trump won Wisconsin in November by less than a percentage point — the closest margin of any state.
