Zelenskyy: Bipartisan Support for Ukraine 'Saved'

By    |   Monday, 30 September 2024 12:22 PM EDT

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his recent trip to the U.S. was a success, telling Fox News on Sunday, "I think that we saved bipartisan support of Ukraine."

Zelenskyy last week met with leaders in Washington to press for ongoing support. He also sought authorization to use weapons the way Ukraine wants to and to strike deeper into Russia.

"We need it very much," Zelenskyy said of the authorization. "We had consultations with France team. We had consultations — before United States — had consultation with the U.K. team. And we had consultation with United States, the biggest supporter in it, decision-maker."

"Because all these European countries, our partners, they’re very good, but they really understand who the decision-maker in it," Zelenskyy said, referring to the U.S. "In this case, they look exactly to Washington."

Zelenskyy added that Russia "attacks hospitals and schools, churches and kindergartens, everything we love. We want to answer from where these missiles come to us, that is very important. That is the key to not give Russia the possibility every day."
