Rep. Ogles to Newsmax: Hunter Plea a 'Travesty'

By    |   Tuesday, 20 June 2023 05:45 PM EDT

The Hunter Biden plea deal for failing to pay federal income tax and illegally possessing a weapon is a "travesty," Rep. Andy Ogles told Newsmax on Tuesday.

The Tennessee Republican told Newsmax's "John Bachman Now" that "it is really a travesty seeing this happening when hundreds, thousands of Americans will be charged with crimes today, and the Biden family gets away with it."

Ogles insisted that "every American knows that the Justice Department has been weaponized, but if you are one of the elite, that you have a different standard as far as how you are going to be treated, how you are going to be sentenced."

He said evidence of this is clear to see as former President Donald Trump is "being persecuted," while the "Biden crime syndicate is getting away with bloody murder."

Ogles emphasized that "my question is, for every American that is subject to these type of gun charges, is this the standard that is going to be used going forward? The misdemeanor tax evasion, is this the standard the IRS is going to allow going forward."

The Tennessee congressman said that the "American people want Republicans to lead and to hold this family accountable, and one way we can do that is by going ahead and impeach Joe Biden," emphasizing that "we need to move forward as quickly as possible to show the American people that enough is enough."
