On Newsmax Saturday, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird said she anticipates a resounding win for former President Donald Trump on caucus night.
Bird highlighted Trump's significant lead in the polls, which surpasses the records of past caucus winners.
"I think that President Trump is going to win big on caucus night," said Bird. "He's pulling it well above that, so my big prediction is, I think President Trump is going to take first, second, and third place. He's going to have such a big, historic win; and I think it'll all be over."
In an interview on "Wake Up America," she emphasized the significance of Iowa as the first contest, urging people to exercise their right to vote and not take Trump's lead for granted.
"My biggest concern for President Trump is just that people don't take that lead for granted; and they make sure they get out there and vote and make their vote count, because that's the one that really matters," Bird stated.
Bird expressed confidence in Trump's popularity among diverse groups in Iowa and dismissed the possibility of caucus night surprises, although she acknowledged the state's history of unexpected outcomes.
"But you know things can happen. I don't think we'll have any surprises in Iowa. [Former] President Trump is way ahead," she said.
The Iowa attorney general weighed in on a separate matter: the alleged intimate relationship between District Attorney Fanni Willis and prosecutor Nathan Wade in Georgia.
"Well, I think it's clear that President Trump has had a target on his back since day one," Bird said. "If the reports out of Georgia are true, it's a very serious matter. Very serious indeed. But I think that all just illustrates the main point. They've been out to get him since day one. And yet, he is doing well. He's got the energy and momentum behind him. I think Iowans and Americans see right through that."
Elected as Iowa's attorney general in November 2022, Bird is the first Republican to hold the office since 1979.
