Rep. Gimenez to Newsmax: Biden Compromised Ethically, Mentally

By    |   Saturday, 10 February 2024 11:36 AM EST

President Joe Biden isn't only compromised mentally, based on findings in a special counsel's report into the investigation of his handling of classified materials, but also ethically, Rep. Carlos Gimenez told Newsmax on Saturday.

"We're investigating how he has personally gained from his position as senator and vice president in the past, and now we have this demonstration of a president that really doesn't have it," the Florida Republican said on Newsmax's "America Right Now." "He's not all there."

Gimenez pointed out Biden's recent gaffes, including this past week when he referred to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as the "president of Mexico."

"He had the right president but he had the wrong country," said Gimenez. "He was really talking about the fence, Gaza, and he confused that with the fence and the border in Mexico."

He also noted that Biden has confused French President Emmanuel Macron with late French leader Francois Mitterand, who died in 1996.

"It's one gaffe after another," said Gimenez. "His mental state is actually deteriorating very rapidly."

That means the House and Senate must pick up the mantle of leadership, but at the same time, Biden's "handlers in the White House" are "dictating the direction of this country."

"It's his handlers that are leading us down this path along with this president, and so we need a new president in November to put us back on the right track and bring America back," said Gimenez.

Meanwhile, the congressman predicted that Democrats will break with Biden and push for another candidate, but only if they feel that he will lose in the November general election.

"Then they'll find a way to shove him away and shove him out and say 'look, we've got this report, we've got these incidents. He's obviously on a decline and we need a new candidate, somebody that can beat Donald Trump,'" said Gimenez.

But unless that happens, the Democrats won't push for a 25th Amendment removal from office, he added.

Meanwhile, Gimenez said he does take objection to special counsel Robert Hur adding commentary to the report that predicted a potential juror would view Biden as an elderly man with memory issues.

"It's not the prosecutor's job to get into the mind of a potential juror and say, 'well, that juror is not going to find this individual, guilty or not,'" said Gimenez. "That's not their job."

The purpose of the investigation was to determine if Biden willfully broke the law by removing classified documents and storing them elsewhere, and he "obviously did" that, said the congressman.

Gimenez also Saturday discussed the Senate's vote against the bipartisan border bill earlier this week and pointed out that the House's H.R.2 immigration bill, which has been on hold in the Senate, needs to pass.

"But again, H.R.2 is only going to be effective if we have a new president because you have to have a willful president that's going to carry [it] out," said Gimenez.
