With so many people voting early, it's simply too late to hold another debate, Trump campaign senior adviser Corey Lewandowski told Newsmax on Monday.
"The reality is a number of these battleground states, the ballots are already out, so people are already voting," Lewandowski said on "Wake Up America." "What we've seen in the past is that these late debates that get scheduled have occurred, while 30, 40, 50% of the electorate have already voted."
Lewandowski pointed out that Trump has already participated in seven presidential debates and said the moderators are more interested in becoming the story.
"As opposed to just asking questions," Lewandowski said.
The Trump aide said he believed the Harris campaign would agree to a debate only when it was on favorable terms.
"She wants to have a three-on-one debate," Lewandowski said. "That was very evident during the ABC debate. And it's unfair to President Trump that he gets fact-checked and she doesn't. Donald Trump talks about his policies every single day. He'll do it today in Pennsylvania, tomorrow in Georgia, and on Wednesday we will be in North Carolina. We’re on the campaign trail every day talking about our policies. I think that's just as good as a debate."
Lewandowski called Trump's June debate showing against President Joe Biden "the greatest debate performance ever," since it forced Biden out of the race.
"Donald Trump's going to have an opportunity to do something in this election that no Republican has ever done," Lewandowski said. "He's going to beat two Democratic nominees for president to go on to win the White House, not just one."
