Dick Morris to Newsmax: Soros Award Signals Biden's 'Free-for-All'

It's one thing for President Joe Biden to give high honors to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or former Rep. Liz Cheney, but it sent a "free-for-all" message to award Democrat philanthropist George Soros, Dick Morris, an adviser for President-elect Donald Trump, told Newsmax on Saturday.

"He can give awards to Hillary, who served as secretary of state, and Liz Cheney, who served in Congress, but when he gave an award to George Soros, who has never had a position in the American government and has been complicit and been instrumental in defrauding people in our elections, that just was incredible," said Morris on Newsmax's "The Count."

Biden Saturday bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Clinton, Soros, and 17 other famous names in politics, sports, entertainment, civil rights, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and science.

The recipients have made "exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors," the White House said.

Morris said that giving Soros an award shows a "free-for-all" and sends the message that "the Biden people had hoped that this election could be stolen."

"They'd hoped that the election irregularities of 2020 could be repeated and intensified, and [President-elect] Donald Trump wouldn't let that happen," said Morris. "He cracked down on fraudulent voting in most of the swing states. You saw very little of that in Georgia and North Carolina, which were epicenters of fraud in the last election … when you see the difference that honesty and integrity make and the vote counts, you really appreciate that."

Biden on Friday awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal, the second highest civilian medal to Cheney and Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., who were leaders of the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol protests.

Morris also spoke out against Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan's announcement that Trump will be sentenced on Jan. 10, before he's sworn into office, on his convictions of falsifying business records. The judge said Trump will not be sentenced to jail.

"The judge is facing the loss of his access to the media, and there's nothing worse than being passed over when you're used to basking in the spotlight," said Morris. "But I think it's fantastic that Trump is having a rally the day before his inauguration.

"This concept of how Trump communicates with voters directly to rallies through extensive speeches, not 30-second soundbites, but hour-long speeches and goes into details on his programs is wonderful."
