Dick Morris to Newsmax: Left Feared Kirk's Reach With Young Voters

By    |   Wednesday, 15 October 2025 10:19 PM EDT

Political analyst Dick Morris told Newsmax on Wednesday that the political left feared Charlie Kirk because he shattered their stereotypes about conservatives.

Kirk became a rare figure who could unite faith, youth, and patriotism into one movement.

“He challenged all of the stereotypes that they had invented,” Morris told “Finnerty.” “They had dismissed the evangelical movement as an electoral gimmick.

"They had berated the mainstream MAGA movement for saying it was fascist or anti-gay. And Charlie Kirk was someone who reached out past those characterizations and spoke directly to the young people of America.

"And, you know, it's not often said about Charlie that in addition to being a brilliant theologian and a moral leader, he was also a hell of a politician."

Morris, whose book “The Real Charlie Kirk” will be released Nov. 4, credited the late Turning Point USA co-founder and CEO for energizing a new generation of voters.

“Thirty-six percent of people under 30 voted for Trump in 2020, but in 2024, 46% did,” he said. “That 10-point difference was really the margin of victory for him.”

Kirk, 31, was assassinated in September during an event at Utah Valley University, an attack federal investigators have called politically motivated.

His killing sparked national outrage and renewed debate about the rise of political violence in the U.S.

Morris said Kirk’s influence will endure for decades, comparing his impact to that of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

“I think we’ll certainly remember his impact, and that clearly is going to stay, just as King’s has,” Morris said. “I'm not sure that he will be surrounded with the official endorsements that King had because of the left.

"But I do believe that he's changed the course of American history by changing how people feel about God and politics and the importance of doing the right thing, and the importance of following your conscience and not political correctness.”
