Presidential adviser Dick Morris told Newsmax on Saturday that the list of achievements in President Donald Trump's first 100 days is "incredible," but perhaps the most striking is that he's defined "a new global paradigm of world trade and relationships with other counties."
Morris said during an appearance on "Saturday Report" that many pundits will take note of Trump's hundreds of executive orders and his actions on tariffs and the border, but the real accomplishment is resetting America's place in the world.
"What he's done really is define a new global paradigm of world trade and our relationships among other countries. He's essentially turning the world inside out.
"Whereas before the United States gave money to everybody and boosted the rest of the world at its own expense, exporting our jobs, creating huge amounts of national debt and gigantic deficit, now it's being turned outside in," he said.
The author of "The Return: Trump's Big 2024 Comeback" said the president's ability to have other countries subsidize the U.S. to do business will be critical.
"And I believe that you're talking about a moment in world history that will be seen as fundamental in the future. Donald Trump has so exceeded my expectations for him.
"I thought he'd close the border. I thought he'd do well on the economy and deportations and all that," Morris said.
"But what he has done is so fundamentally change the basic ground rules of international politics that it is just beyond belief and is incredibly exciting."
