Former President Donald Trump told Newsmax on Monday he's engaged in a "very unfair fight" for the White House — and that his only course is to "swamp" Democrats and critics to ensure America has "free and fair" elections and strong borders.
In an exclusive sit-down with Rob Schmitt, Trump outlined his concerns for the nation's future, and expressed confidence in an ultimate victory.
"I think we have to swamp them," he said of President Joe Biden's supporters, warning, "China will be involved; others will be involved, too" in efforts to stymy his run for the White House.
"Our elections are very unsafe, they're not free and fair," he said.
"No one wants to hear it," he said. He added, "If we can't have free and fair elections and strong borders, we don't have a country."
Trump said the fix is simple: "Same day, voter ID."
"That's all you need … when you see them fight voter ID, that's No. 1," he said.
Despite the roadblocks, Trump said he's confident about his chance to win back the White House despite the "weaponization" he faces.
"We're leading by a lot," he said. "I think part of that is this weaponization."
"These are very dishonest people; this is their form of cheating," he said of adversaries, adding he was "honored" by his own supporters and insisted, he is running "for the country."
"We're killing Biden in so many different ways … we're leading everywhere … in every swing state," he declared. "From a voting standpoint … these numbers are legendary," he added.
The former president slammed Biden as "the worst president we've ever had."
"What they've done with weaponization, they've never done in this country," he added.
He also said that America is suffering through a "very dangerous time."
"You have terrorists pouring into our country," he said.
"Our country is a mess; it's never been this divided," he said. "Success brings it together … and we're bringing it together."
