Rev. Salvo to Newsmax: Reason Behind Jesus' Manger Birth

By    |   Tuesday, 24 December 2024 11:17 AM EST

The Rev. Enrique Salvo told Newsmax on Tuesday that there is an important and powerful reason behind the birth of Jesus in a manger.

Salvo, rector at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, joined "Wake up America" on Christmas Eve to remind Christians that the manner of Jesus' birth was by design.

"There is a real important reason that Jesus was born in a manger, that there was no room at the inn. Which is the fact that that allowed the shepherds to go visit him," Salvo said. "Had he been born in an inn, the shepherds would not have been allowed inside to go visit Jesus.

"But he came for all of us. He came in our darkness. He came in our poverty. He came in, even when we feel that we're not worthy, he comes to be accessible to all.

"So that's a powerful thing that he was born in a manger because it's not just that's the way it came out, that it happened, it's because that allows us all to go visit him. So if the shepherds had no excuse, neither should we.”
