Rep. Gill to Newsmax: 'I'm Not Interested in Bipartisanship'

By    |   Thursday, 09 January 2025 05:02 PM EST

Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Thursday that since Democrats typically "ram their agenda down the throats of the American people" when they are in charge, he is "not interested in bipartisanship for the sake of bipartisanship."

"The American people are sick of liberal policies. They are sick of open borders. They're sick of a failing economy. They're sick of wokeness being shoved down the throats of their children whenever the parents don't want anything to do with it. And we've got to take our country back. Now, if Democrats want to work with us to do that, they're welcome to. But Republicans are in the driver's seat now," Gill said during an appearance on "The Chris Salcedo Show."

Republicans are eager to get Trump's legislative priorities through as quickly as possible, yet there remains divide within the GOP whether the president-elect's mandates are better served by dividing the priorities into two packages or attempting to get them through Congress all at once. Gill noted that either way, Americans are "sick" of Democrat policies.
