Matthew Whitaker, former acting attorney general during the Trump administration, told Newsmax Saturday that President Joe Biden will pardon his son Hunter Biden to remove from the table the alleged trail of money laundering from foreign agents that had been brought to light by House Oversight Chair James Comer, R-Ky.
"There's a reason we're talking about all these cases today," Whitaker told "Wake Up America Weekend."
"You know, we're 60 days from the election, and the Democrats obviously have been using lawfare to help Kamala Harris and previously Joe Biden beat Donald Trump because they know they can't beat him just straight up with the American people."
Whitaker said Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to tax evasion and other tax crimes on Thursday "for a couple of reasons."
"One is ... that there's no doubt his dad, Joe Biden, is going to pardon him. And the second thing was to get his, this issue — the Biden family corruption, the payments from China, from Ukraine, from Romania and elsewhere — off the table, to get those issues out of the news, and to only focus on, you know, Donald Trump legal challenges.
"It's really a cynical, sick strategy that the left's been employing, but they've been able to get away with it because the mainstream media isn't calling them out for the abuse of our legal system in trying to win a political election," Whitaker added.
The former attorney general ended his segment by stating that Hunter would likely be pardoned the day after the election or the day before President Biden leaves office.
