House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., outlined the elaborate "scheme" of the Biden family, telling Newsmax on Monday that it amounts to "money laundering 101."
Comer appeared on "Rob Schmitt Tonight," expounding on the bombshell report that he dropped late last week regarding the $200,000 that Jim Biden paid to his brother Joe Biden in March 2018.
At the center of it all was a financially distressed rural hospital operator, Comer said.
"This family was involved in a very organized money laundering scheme," Comer told Schmitt. "So it's very complicated to determine the source of a lot of these payments. But we've traced the $200,000 that Joe Biden received straight to the source, and it was Americore Health, a company that Jim Biden influence-peddled Joe Biden.
"Jim Biden approached this company that was failing and said, 'My brother's contacts will allow me to help find you all the money you need in the Middle East,'" Comer said.
Americore on March 1, 2018, wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden's personal bank account, according to the Oversight Committee. On the same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from this same personal bank account to Joe Biden.
"We built the case to prove that Joe Biden is lying to the American people over the past eight years about his knowledge and involvement his family's influence peddling scheme," Comer said. "We're about to prove that Jim Biden committed many crimes, and now we're piecing it together, and we're finally getting to where the money did go to Joe Biden. There's no question with that $200,000 check.
"Even if they try to claim that they did loan Jim Biden money, Jim Biden never could have paid that $200,000 back had he not influence-peddled Americore Health. So Joe Biden is $200,000 better off either way because of the influence peddling scheme," he said.
Comer said the committee started with the abandoned shell companies.
"This is money laundering 101. Money goes from account to account to account," Comer said.
He also addressed a report that Joe Biden paid $2.7 million in cash for his Delaware beach house in 2017.
"None of Joe Biden's assets make sense," Comer said. "What we're finding with every new account that comes in is that they were transferring money back and forth, back and forth. There's a term for that. It's called money laundering, and that's just a serious crime.
"Unless your last name is Biden."
