Sen. Fetterman to Newsmax: Erie County, Pa., Winner Takes Presidency

By    |   Tuesday, 05 November 2024 07:25 PM EST

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., told Newsmax on Tuesday that whoever wins Erie County, Pennsylvania's northernmost county, will carry the state and ultimately the presidency.

"Erie County, I've always described that as like the ultimate bellwether here in Pennsylvania, if not in the nation," Fetterman told "The Record With Greta Van Susteren." "In 2020, I said if I could only know one single piece of information, what would that be? And I'd say, well, tell me who wins Erie. That's [who is] going to win Pennsylvania, and then that's the next president.

"That's what happened in 2016 and that's what happened in 2020. And I say the same thing where we are in 2024. And that's why, you know, whoever is going to win Pennsylvania is going to carry Erie."
