Columbia Grad to Newsmax: Student Protesters Lack Morality, Facts

By    |   Monday, 07 October 2024 07:52 PM EDT

Katie Aryeh, who graduated from Columbia University last spring, told Newsmax on Monday that students protesting on college campuses on the anniversary of Iranian-backed Hamas' Oct. 7 terrorist attack in southern Israel don't have a realistic grasp of what is happening in the Middle East.

"Any truthful and reality-based information is lacking in most of these students' minds, as well as any morality," Aryeh told "National Report." "As we saw at Columbia last year, the encampment was sanctioned to be on our campus for over two weeks, where Jewish and American students who were just trying to go to class were prevented from doing so.

"While our fellow students chanted 'death to America, death to Israel' [and] said that Jewish students should be the next targets of Hamas' terrorist rapist regime, this behavior that has been exhibited and allowed to be exhibited at Columbia University is truly egregious."

She said the fact that 18 of the 22 students who seized Hamilton Hall in late April, an incident where maintenance workers were reportedly not allowed to leave, are still in good standing with the university is evidence that "the university sanctions immoral, ungodly, anti-American values" and allows it to flourish.

Liam Schorr, a sophomore economics major at Columbia, appeared with Aryeh on "National Report" and slammed the university for allowing protests to be held on the anniversary of such "an extremely sad and solemn day for the Jewish people."

"It's absolutely outrageous that students at my university are going to protest later today," he said. "It's the students [that] are supporting terrorism, and it just disgusts me that they would choose to protest on a day like today."
