Guilfoyle to Newsmax: No Need for 'Champ' Trump on GOP Debate Undercard

By    |   Tuesday, 22 August 2023 07:39 PM EDT

Kimberly Guilfoyle, an adviser to Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign, told Newsmax on Tuesday she's "not so impressed" with the lineup of candidates who will be participating in the first Republican presidential primary debate on Wednesday night in Milwaukee.

Trump, the prohibitive favorite to win the nomination, will not be on the stage that will include eight other rivals as he has decided to skip the debate.

"Let's see if anybody does anything worthwhile tomorrow night," Guilfoyle, who is engaged to Trump's son Donald Jr., told "Carl Higbie FRONTLINE." "But the bottom line is, Donald Trump is crushing it. He is up 46 points. He has an overwhelming, almost embarrassingly amount of support. That is incredible because the rest of the people should be ashamed and go home and get a hug from their mother, and a glass of milk, and a cookie because it's not looking good for them.

"The champ doesn't fight in the undercard round. That's what's happening here. He's nobody's opening act, and Trump is just cruising all the way to be the victor in the primary, and he is beating Sleepy Joe [Biden], Sloppy Joe, Pathetic Joe, Rude Joe – every day the adjectives grow – in the polls and beating him in the general election. Right now, this is a runaway for the champ Donald Trump."

Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host whose "The Kimberly Guilfoyle Show" appears on Rumble, said she and Donald Trump Jr., whose show "Triggered" also is on Rumble, will be at the debate. Fox News, which is playing host to the debate, has reportedly barred any supporters of the former president from visiting the "spin room," where candidates and their allies interact with members of the media after the debate.

"Unfortunately, for a media company that I used to work for, you would expect better, but this is just really pathetic messaging," Guilfoyle said. "They're just stepping on themselves. It's backfiring spectacularly. It's [a distraction] taking away from the focus on the debate."
