Former deputy national security adviser K.T. McFarland told Newsmax Thursday the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is a great thing for everyone.
"Yahya Sinwar was not only the mastermind of the Oct. 7 massacres, but he was truly demonic," McFarland said on "Newsline." "He was the man who called for the death of his own children. He said it's better if they die because it's better for their for the public relations of Hamas.
"For this man to no longer be walking the face of the earth is just a very great, wonderful thing — not only for the people of Israel, but for the people of the world. And frankly, it's better for the Palestinian people themselves."
McFarland, who served in former President Donald Trump's administration, praised Israel for going after numerous terror groups that want to do the country harm.
"Israel has finally said, We've had enough," McFarland said. "The Biden administration ... said, We're not going to give you weapons if you go into Rafah. Well, where was Yahya Sinwar killed? In Rafah.
"All of the major leaders of all of the terrorist groups and the proxies are now dead. And so if you're a senior official in Iran, you've got to think, Do they have my name on the list, too?"
McFarland said a second term Trump would help Israel, since he would be more of an ally and bankrupt Iran.
"He understands the importance of the economic weapon," McFarland said. "You know, the attitude of the Trump administration was: bankrupt Iran — just prevent them from being able to move; bankrupt them and let their own people make their own decisions to replace the leadership.
"Trump, coming in after the Israelis have cut off the head of their snake, and then Trump coming in and starving that snake — the Middle East will be a completely different and more peaceful and prosperous place for all of its people."
