Donald Trump is going to defeat Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire Republican primary on Tuesday by approximately a 2-1 margin because the MAGA movement "is that which is ascendent," Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., told Newsmax on Monday.
"Nikki Haley is the last vestige of the establishment trying to control how we act and how we think so that they can dictate the future of the country," Gaetz told "Eric Bolling The Balance," "but one thing I know is that our movement is that which is ascendent."
Gaetz said that, when he was in Iowa campaigning and caucusing for Trump, the number one thing that voters told him was to tell Trump not to choose Haley as his pick for vice president.
"Nikki Haley is a globalist. Nikki Haley is for higher gas taxes. She was against the wall and for amnesty, and if Nikki Haley were president, she would be in favor of every war anyone had ever contemplated or imagined," Gaetz continued.
Regarding the rivalry with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who dropped out of the presidential race Sunday and endorsed Trump, it was really a "contest over personality and style. But with Nikki Haley, it's really a contest over policy," Gaetz said. "We don't want forever wars. We don't want higher taxes. We don't want seniors to be in a worse position regarding their benefits. And so Nikki Haley's gonna lose this contest by about a 2 to 1 margin in New Hampshire."
"It's Nikki Haley's ideas, her ideas that will be rejected extensively by the MAGA base," Gaetz added, predicting a "big win" in New Hampshire for Donald Trump.
