Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, told Newsmax, he believes the Justice Department will not prosecute Hunter Biden on a contempt of Congress charge.
Whitaker made his comments Friday on "Wake Up America."
"I think ultimately they don't [prosecute] because this Merrick Garland and this Department of Justice are probably unwilling to go against Hunter Biden and Joe Biden — their bosses. They need to demonstrate there's not a two-tier system of justice," he said.
Hunter Biden skipped his House Oversight Committee subpoena to provide a closed-door deposition earlier this week.
Whitaker said the House investigation of Hunter Biden and his family was warranted.
"It's really about his behavior and his actions and what he did," he said. "At the end of the day, he benefited millions of millions of dollars when his father was vice president. That is obviously a concern that those were [from] corrupt relationships, that they were only giving him money to benefit his father and to have access to his father.
"And I think in a republic like we have, where citizens participate in government that's the biggest concern we can possibly have is that we have someone who is compromised and not acting in the people's interests and acting in their own interests.
"Hunter can spin it and suggest that this is somehow trying to damage his father, but at the end of the day it's just trying to get to the truth. And the entire Biden family — all of them — have blocked and tried to prevent the truth from getting out."
