After at least 14 people were killed in a New Year’s attack in New Orleans, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told Newsmax on Friday that President-elect Donald Trump will return to the concept of justice.
Huckabee, who was nominated by Trump to serve as ambassador to Israel, said that under Trump, the Justice Department will focus on pursuing people who are criminally intent on murdering Americans and creating havoc and mayhem.
“This is a Justice Department under Joe Biden that's focused itself on DEI,” Huckabee said on “Wake Up America.” “They focused itself on making sure that we went after mothers going to school board meetings to speak up about their children and going after 75-year-old grandmothers who sang and prayed at an abortion clinic.”
The Justice Department should have focused more on preventing what happened in New Orleans, Huckabee said.
“Many Americans and myself included, are waiting for … January the 20th,” Huckabee said. “We finally will get back to a place where I believe that the agencies will start responding with a sense of honor and duty. We've been lied to so much, lied to about Joe Biden's condition. That will be a wonderful thing when we can turn the page from this administration and the things that they have done to make us less safe.”
