The mayor of a borough in New Jersey told Newsmax Monday he has been dealing with drones nonstop for a month.
Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali told "National Report" that federal agencies continue to insist everything is fine.
"They stay in the air for about six hours, but we don't know where they come from and where they go to, but they are over our skies every single night, and they are safe," Ghassali said federal authorities have told him. "That's all I heard so far."
Ghassali said the drones are all anyone is talking about in his borough.
"Speaking on behalf of all my residents, they are so frustrated," Ghassali said. "That's all we talk about at the restaurants, at work, at home. We want to move on. We just want to know these are safe. If these are [Department of Defense] or [Department of Justice] drones, let us know that they're safe, so we can move on.
The mayor, who said he saw the drones two nights ago, said they are flying over schools, reservoirs, and the power grid.
"Our reservoir is all fenced in," Ghassali said. "We can't even go … inside the fence, and these drones are on top of the reservoir. If these are safe, just come out and tell us what they are, so we can move on. We have things that we have to work on.
"It's all we talk about all day long. I have two phones right now, both going off with information about the drones. Enough is enough. Let's move on."
