Donald Trump's expected signing of some 200 executive orders on Day 1 of his return to the White House is a great sign that he is delivering on his campaign promises and starting to put America on the right track again, Rep. Nick LaLota told Newsmax on Monday.
The New York Republican, speaking on "Wake Up America" just before the inauguration, stressed that Trump is "delivering on his campaign promises that helped him win every single swing state, the popular vote, and things that are needed to put this great country back on the right track. Executive orders on the border. Executive orders on energy and our economy, essentially unwinding on doing the damage the previous administration has done to our great country."
LaLota emphasized that "time is of the essence. The president understands this. The president is going to hit the ground running, not wasting any time whatsoever, confirming his Cabinet picks, issuing executive orders, working with Congress on big, massive bills."
LaLota added that "temperatures here in Washington, D.C., may be very low ... [but] morale and energy is sky high. ... Folks are excited ... to get this president back into office to put America back on the right track with respect to our border, our economy, our standing on the world stage."
The congressman reiterated that "there's a whole lot of eagerness right now, not just in the halls of Congress, not just in D.C., but throughout the nation."
Rep. Darrell Issa pointed out to Newsmax that this it is not a good day to be a member of the Democratic Party.
The California Republican stressed that this is because the majority of the American people "rebuffed their politics and they're seeing a change not just in Washington, but they are seeing a change in corporate halls, where they are reevaluating bad policies that have hurt America."
