Fmr Amb. Ferro to Newsmax: China Replaced US in Latin America

By    |   Monday, 03 February 2025 09:48 PM EST

Simon Ferro, the former U.S. ambassador to Panama during the Clinton administration, told Newsmax on Monday that the United States has lifted its hegemonic position in Latin America and China has filled that "vacuum."

China has "been in Panama for a number of years," Ferro told "Rob Schmitt Tonight."

Ferro added that for the "last century," China took over the U.S.'s position in providing infrastructure projects around the world. He argued that the U.S. should be more on such projects "on our own."
