Protester Charges Stage at Trump Rally

By    |   Saturday, 20 January 2024 11:30 AM EST

A jubilant night for thousands of Trump supporters took a turn when a protester ran from police and charged toward the stage as former President Donald Trump called out President Joe Biden as a "threat to democracy."

"But Joe Biden is a threat to democracy for a number of reasons," Trump told the crowd of thousands at Southern New Hampshire University's packed hockey arena in a rally that aired live and in its entirety on Newsmax and the Newsmax2 streaming platform.

"Take a look at what he's doing with weaponization. What he's doing with the weaponization that we just discussed is terrible, but he's a threat for another reason. Very big. He's grossly incompetent.

"That's the biggest threat that we have to democracy. We're going to end up in World War III with this guy running things."

That is when an older man in his 60s started shouting at Trump.

"You know, it's interesting until I got indicted, I never talked this way about him," Trump continued over the shouting before stopping.

"Who's this? Is he your friend?" Trump said as a Trump supporter confronted the protester. "You can get him out of here. Get out of here. Get out of here.

"Go ahead, you can throw him out."

As police sought to walk the protester out, he hurried through the chairs on the floor and down the aisle toward the stage before he was stopped by police and Secret Service.

Trump waved the protester off and briefly walked away from the podium during the brief melee. Chants of "USA! USA!" broke out as Trump returned to the mic.

"Well, now we know that politics is getting serious," Trump continued after short interruption. "So now we know we're getting serious. Nah, he's just a disturbed person.

"Remember that used to happen all the time? People used to call for it. Where is that? We want it back. But no, probably, we're really now into political season and that is happening. It's happening, and the people in this room know."

Trump added liberal billionaire activist George Soros might be funding protesters.

"And a lot of those guys, by the way, are paid by Soros, and these people, you know that they're troublemakers," Trump said. "A lot of those people are paid. They go outside. In fact, there MAGA people, but they can't help it. They say, Look, he gave ...

"I said, 'Do what you're doing.'"

Trump noted the rarity of rally protesters last week in Iowa, too. There a global warming activist group made a scene before getting thrown out of the arena to the record-setting Iowa cold that was around minus-30 degrees wind chill.

Trump noted it was a "warm" 15 degrees in Manchester on Saturday night.
