Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told Newsmax on Wednesday that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. "really is the right choice for [Health and Human Services] secretary at this point in time."
Earlier in the day, RFK Jr. faced tough questioning from several Democrats regarding his stance on vaccines and if he will sue the pharmaceutical companies. Redfield said Kennedy is intimidating to many because "he’s going to be transformative."
"I think I think a lot of people are scared about change. They don't want change. I think Kennedy is going to be a breath of fresh air. I was very disappointed in the partisanship that I saw today by the Democrats, but I was very encouraged by the authentic, passionate individual who stood up, stood his ground, and explained to the American people why he's committed to making America healthy again," Redfield said during an appearance on "Rob Schmitt Tonight."
Redfield added that RFK Jr. is authentic, he knows the subject matter and that he is "committed to childhood health."
"He's the individual that's prayed, as he said, every day for a long time, for God to give him the chance to make an impact on childhood health. And he's going to do it, and I'm going to support him 100%," Redfield said.
