Sen. Johnson to Newsmax: NY Times Late on Border Crisis

By    |   Wednesday, 11 December 2024 09:25 PM EST

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., expressed on Newsmax his frustration at The New York Times for its reporting on Wednesday that there is a border crisis — a problem he said they're late to acknowledge.

"Isn't it amazing The New York Times is now just writing about this disaster of the [President Joe] Biden open border policy?" Johnson quipped to "Rob Schmitt Tonight" on Wednesday.

"I mean, this has been a clear and present danger for years," the congressman continued. "You know, we've been screaming about it. I've been publishing information and charts and everything else.

"I mean, this is obviously a huge problem. And yet The New York Times and most of the corporate legacy media have been completely silent about this until [New York City] Mayor [Eric] Adams and [Chicago] Mayor [Brandon] Johnson started saying that all these migrants are going to destroy their cities.

"And now, after the election, now they've lost, they're finally willing to admit that this, you know, this could be a problem."
