Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told Newsmax on Tuesday that "if we had a sane, unbiased media the election wouldn't be close."
As Americans finally head to the polls, Wisconsin will be a critical state that former President Donald Trump may need to win in order to get back to the White House.
Johnson said that Trump's multiple visits to the state will resonate with voters.
"If you go to a Trump rally, I think what is most noticeable is the gathering of individuals who fervently love this country," Johnson said during an appearance on "Wake Up America." "I think that separates us from the Democrats."
Johnson added that much of the Democrats' success is due to a complicit media to cover for their "massive deficit spending" and open border policies.
"If we had a sane world with an unbiased media, this election wouldn't even be close," Johnson said. "But unfortunately, we have a very insane world driven by a complicit and corrupt media that is backing the Democrats."
