The United States needs to "decouple" from China to truly remove its dependence on foreign goods, Dilbert creator Scott Adams told Newsmax TV.
"We need to look to at long-term decoupling and go our own way," Adams told Wednesday's "Spicer & Co." "You add the intellectual property theft, the moving of our supply chains and our meds over there, the way they treated us with the coronavirus – all the evidence suggests that we can't connect a transparent system, like ours is, where you can tell what's going on, to a non-transparent system, because it gives them all the advantage.
"They can hide anything. We can't hide anything. It's just not really a place we should be connecting to.
"I was the first person who called out the 'masks don't work' lie," he added.
"Today I'm calling out . . . I don't believe we're going to see enough testing to make a difference," Adams said.
Adams thinks testing companies have lied about how many tests can be made to gauge the number of coronavirus cases in the United States.
He added: "My stepson died of a fentanyl overdose in 2018, and of course China's the main source of that, which I think interestingly comes from Wuhan.
"So if you look at the number of people that China has killed in America, just this year, if you add the fentanyl deaths to the coronavirus deaths, I mean they're really racking up the toll."
