Retired Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley was involved in two incidents that need to be investigated by the Department of Defense, says retired Lt. Col. Tony Schaffer.
"First off, the failure to respond adequately to the 6th of January. [Milley] was part of the problem. He had secret communications with members of Congress to include Nancy Pelosi," Milley said Thursday during an appearance on Newsmax's "The Chris Salcedo Show."
"Secondly, his comments made to the Chinese military leadership in that same period. He's admitted under oath that he gave them a heads up and essentially promised he would give them some sort of early warning," he added.
"Well, I last time I checked that's treason. I'm not speaking in any official capacity [but] I'd like to see him administratively reduced from four star general down to O-4 major. He should not be in any category of star after the investigation period."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday ordered the Pentagon's inspector general to investigate Milley's "conduct" and determine whether it's appropriate he should be reduced in rank from his current four stars.
He also revoked Milley's secret detail and suspended his security clearance.
Milley in 2020 assured Chinese officials that Trump wasn't looking to attack Beijing during his final weeks in office. He has said that call was coordinated with then Defense Secretary Mark Esper and other administration officials.
