Sen. Tim Sheehy, R-Mont., told Newsmax on Wednesday that Democrats protesting the military action against Iran never protested the Middle Eastern nation killing American citizens.
"The whole time we were in the Middle East fighting those forever wars, who we were really fighting that entire time was Iran," Sheehy said on "Carl Higbie: FRONTLINE." "Iran started this war with us in 1979."
"And in the decades since, they've been capturing, torturing, maiming, and murdering American citizens and innocent Westerners all across the world," Sheehy added. "And they've been doing so without consequence, until Donald Trump came into office."
"The Democrats are rooting against America," Sheehy continued. "The policy of [Barack] Obama and [Joe] Biden and Susan Rice and Jake Sullivan and Ben Rhodes and all those jackasses was to send billions of dollars to Iran, pay them to stop being mean to us, make deals they knew they were never going to follow, give them pallets of cash."
That policy allowed Iran to buy rockets and missiles and build nuclear weapons, Sheehy said.
"That policy didn't work and all the instability in the region came from one place, and that was Iran and its proxy groups from Hezbollah to Hamas to the Houthi rebels," Sheehy said.
Iran's status as a money and energy launderer for Russia and China also empowered those countries, Sheehy said.
"And China likes having sanctions from America on Iran because it gives them a captive market to buy cheap oil to power their economy," Sheehy said. "So by taking out the regime, we're not just taking out the prime sponsor of Islamic terror for the whole world.
"We're also taking out a cheap energy source for China and Russia."
Sheehy also ripped the "crazy lefty protest culture" that is speaking out against the war in Iran.
"None of these people ever protested for dead Americans when they were being killed by terrorists," Sheehy said. "They never protested when Americans were getting murdered by migrants coming across the border."
"But of course, as soon as we lose six service members, which, of course is a tragedy in this conflict, they come out of the woodwork and blame the administration for killing Americans," Sheehy added. "They never blamed Obama and Biden for empowering this evil terrorist regime, and they never blamed the terrorists for actually being the ones to kill people."
"Don't forget, 43 American citizens died on Oct. 7 at the hands of Iran," Sheehy continued. "It's about time we bring some common sense.
"This is America first all the way, because the Iranian regime has been killing Americans for half a century. All these unhinged lunatic protesters, most of which are getting paid by far-left groups, they're anti-American."
