Former President Donald Trump Saturday night, after presenting several South Carolina political leaders who are backing his candidacy rather than that of their former governor, Nikki Haley, outlined several policies that she or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would back if either wins the White House.
"Nikki Haley said she wants to raise the Social Security retirement age to match life expectancy, which means she wants you to work an extra 10 years before you collect a penny of the benefits you've worked your entire life for," said Trump at his rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, which aired live and in its entirety on Newsmax and the Newsmax2 streaming platform.
DeSantis "voted three times to raise the retirement age to 70."
And, Trump added, Haley supported "RINO Paul Ryan's 2011 plan" to destroy Medicare, referring to "Republican in name only." And he said she's "defending her planned cuts for Social Security and Medicare. We won't let that happen."
Trump further accused both Haley and DeSantis of supporting a 23% national sales tax.
"Perhaps worst of all, Nikki Haley is backed by the deep state and the military-industrial complex, because they know she is a globalist fool who they can easily manipulate into sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine and other foreign countries while our borders remain wide open here at home," Trump said.
Trump further repeated promises for his first day in office, including sealing the border and shutting down the "invasion" of the United States.
"I will terminate every open borders policy of the Biden administration and begin the largest deportation operation in American history," he said. "I will deploy the U.S. Navy to impose a full fentanyl blockade on the waters of our region. The drug cartels are waging war on America, and we will destroy the cartels. And I will use Title 42 to end the child trafficking crisis by returning all trafficked children to their families in their home countries immediately."
Haley, he added, "opposed my border wall. She condemned my strong border policies. And in 2016, she stabbed the Republican Party in the back by siding with Barack Obama against the Trump travel ban, which kept us safe.
"I will quickly end Joe Biden's inflation catastrophe. We will terminate his 'green new scam,' and we will drill, baby, drill. We will quickly cut New Hampshire energy prices in half, or even more."
He further promised to end President Joe Biden's "insane electric vehicle mandate" and even before entering the White House to "have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled ... I am the only candidate who can make this promise. I will prevent World War III. And we will build an iron dome over our country, a state-of-the-art missile defense shield made in the USA."
