Robert Wilkie to Newsmax: Radical Islam Remains Threat

By    |   Thursday, 02 January 2025 04:19 PM EST

The New Year's Day terrorist attack in New Orleans that killed 14 people is another reminder that radical Islam has not gone away, Robert Wilkie, former undersecretary of defense and former secretary of Veterans Affairs told Newsmax on Thursday.

"The Biden administration's attempts to appease it, have failed," Wilkie, a New Orleans native said on "Newsline." "Americans have died. This will continue around the world until we wake up and call evil for what it is."

The FBI has identified the New Orleans driver as 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, an Army veteran. Wilkie said "the PC police" prevent people from reporting extremists in the military.

"The reason we have people like Major Hasan, who killed 20 soldiers at Fort Hood, and we have people like this is that the PC police have made it so that when people see these threats, they're afraid to step forward because their careers will go," Wilkie said. "They'll be … labeled racists. And we have gone away from the fundamentals of telling the truth and calling this for what it is: not only evil, but a threat to every man, woman, and child in the United States."

Wilkie said the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump will punish people who attack the United States, like he did in his first term.

"[Qasem] Soleimani, the head of the world's largest terror network from Iran, was killed," Wilkie said. "They crossed paths with Trump in the United States, and they were eliminated. And their masters were kept in a box for four years. That's the message that will return again."
