Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is perhaps one of the most radical Cabinet selections in recent memory. Compelling arguments can be made that Mr. Kennedy is also one of the most refreshing choices President Donald Trump could have ever made.

Should we describe him as a "supersonic bulldozer"?

With his making it to the helm of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Americans are actually hopeful for a transformation from the man some describe as the most "consequential" health secretary in our nation's history.

The hallmark of this nascent Trump administration has been to lay waste to institutions previously deemed "untouchable."

As panicked Democrats already urge people to violently oppose Trump’s cuts on wasteful spending, this may seem like a warm and fuzzy prelude after the new health secretary begins implementing changes.

Secretary Kennedy is concertedly set on dismantling a deeply entrenched, money-grabbing, once omnipotent alliance of organizations that are a major factor for why Americans have the lowest life expectancy among high income nations.

No other country spends as much money on healthcare as we do.

Yet concurrently, we have a population that dies the youngest in advanced economies.

While the previous regime at HHS seemed preoccupied with wasting outrageous amounts of money, ($22 billion) to help migrants buy houses, and cars, RFK, Jr. is determined to focus on far more meaningful endeavors such as ending the chronic disease epidemic in children.

As our children were becoming sicker at alarming rates, "leadership" at HHS doubled down on ignoring serious health issues so they could fight the culture wars. They even went as far as threatening to withdraw funding from hospitals who refused to perform gender-reassignment surgeries for minors.

In the last 50 years, childhood cancer is up 35%, pediatric asthma has tripled, currently one in six kids is affected by a neurodevelopmental disorder.

A bombshell study published in the New England Journal of Medicine notes that of 350,000 manufactured chemicals, only 20% are tested for toxicity. This study highlights the growing evidence of toxic chemicals linked to childhood illnesses.

The lead author of the study, Dr. Philip Landrigan has spent decades advocating for stronger safety measures.

"I see it as immoral that we should allow children in our country to be exposed to chemicals that are harming them when we could be doing something about it,"
said Dr. Landrigan.

It’s hard to determine how we got here, but more than 10,000 chemicals are allowed in food in the United States.

A number of suspected carcinogenic substances that are banned in the China, Europe, and India have no problem staying on America’s shelves.

Another substance that has the potential to damage DNA and cause chromosomal damage is banned in Europe yet is still found in some of the most popular candy sold in the United States.

In another case, Red Dye No. 3 strongly linked to cancer, (found in several popular children’s cereals and long banned for use in cosmetics in the U.S.) has been banned in the European Union (EU) for decades

Yet, the United States finally got around to banning it this past January.

We should not begrudge pharmaceutical companies and other manufacturers for maximizing profits as long as they don’t break the law.

Their loyalty belongs to their owners, shareholders. At the same time, we must recognize that they benefitted from a rigged system where — for whatever reason(s) — public health officers and elected officials gave them carte-blanche to do what they wanted, accepting some of the flimsiest defenses of dangerous substances as settled science and failing to protect the American public.

Vaccines are estimated to have saved over 100 million lives globally.

That is remarkable, wonderful, and amazing.

It would be a terrible mistake to ban or discourage most vaccines.

However, it’s time to concede that it’s simply crazy to keep affording vaccine manufacturers blanket immunity for products that may have known dangerous side effects or could injure or kill those taking them.

Thanks in large part to grievous concerns over COVID vaccines leading to serious illness and death, many people are worried about complications.

Consequently, vaccine skepticism is growing rapidly.

According to a survey conducted by Gallup, only 40% of adults said vaccinating their children is essential.

Over 13% of Americans use anti-depressants, and for millions of people globally they are an invaluable life-changing treatment.

At the same time, it would be unconscionable to continue ignore the devastating side effects, particularly in children. According to the Food and Drug Administration, many of these drugs pose the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in children and adolescents.

77% of young Americans are physically unfit to serve in the military.

Americans need to know that our government is looking out for us and not preoccupied with maintaining the status quo.

RFK, Jr. is far from a panacea who will instantly cure our ills, but when it comes to promoting Americans health and protecting us from a broken system, he's the best person for the job and he will ultimately unify Americans on health issues.
