In keeping with the liberal tradition, what really matters are words, not results.
From California to Illinois, from San Francisco to Baltimore, left-wing policies have devastated families and entire communities.
For over a half-century, "progressive" thinking has only resulted in "regressive" outcomes.
Meanwhile, on Main Street America, common sense and decency prevail, despite what Manhattan and the Beltway are selling.
So, when they see progressive thinkers and politicians telling you that men can have babies, that parents should have no input in their children’s education and that pronouns are a priority over people, they see a country being run by insanity.
If the lunatics are running the asylum, let’s at least have a crazy leader who has our best interests at heart.
That's why Donald Trump was elected and what America expects from their meshuga president.
I’ll be the first to acknowledge that the very mention of Trump’s name sets off alarms in many circles. But what the media and elitists fail to admit is that what’s happening in America, be it the last 4 or 40 years, is not working.
The fact that we are repeating the same failed ideas and policies is crazier than anything Trump has ever said or done.
Trump's critics, including myself on a few occasions, are quick to label him "dictator" or "fascist" or "king" whenever he says something that doesn’t comport with the orthodoxy of their virtue-signaling political class.
Of course, these are the same people who brand anyone who disagrees with them as racist, transphobic, or misogynistic. But Trump is the crazy one.
During last week’s press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump declared, "the U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it too."
On the surface, crazy idea. But is it really?
Trump is right about many things regarding Gaza and its residents.
People can’t return to homes and neighborhoods that have been reduced to rubble.
Assuming Gaza will be rebuilt, its people must live somewhere in the meantime.
Just as important, power must not be returned to Hamas, and the Palestinian Authority (PA) is far too corrupt to properly govern and guarantee Israeli security.
Truth be told, any plan that doesn’t guarantee that Israel won’t be attacked in the future is a non-starter. No nation or corporation should even consider spending a dime to rebuild Gaza if there is any chance Oct.7, 2023 could happen again. No idea is as crazy as rebuilding land that will be used as a launching pad for another massacre.
Do I believe the United States should occupy Gaza?
Absolutely not.
Do I believe Israel should take over Gaza?
Moot question because Israel doesn’t want to.
Should Gaza be turned into "Gaz-a-Lago" or a second Dubai? The idea actually has merit.
Trump’s critics apparently are too small-minded to consider that Trump often makes statements without clarification or details. They prefer a knee-jerk attack mode instead of trying to comprehend what he's saying or reading between the lines.
Just like we witnessed last week regarding Mexico and Canada, the threat of tariffs prompted these nations to panic, pledge to come to the negotiating table, and send troops to help guard the border.
Trump won that battle.
No shots were fired, the progressives, who never cared about free trade before, screamed bloody murder at Trump’s threats, not seeing that they may be merely a leveraging ploy.
The same could be said about his Gaza remarks.
Let’s be clear.
The Arab and Muslim worlds have no love for Palestinians.
That is why Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and every other Arab/Muslim nation refuses to take them in.
They're also a political football used by governments to distract their citizens from their own oppression, using the Palestinian cause as a smoke screen and rallying cry against the Jews and Israel.
Suddenly Trump’s comments aren’t so crazy.
Maybe the craziest idea to come out of Washington in two centuries is Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
But is that truly crazy?
What is wrong with making sure taxpayer dollars are not squandered on frivolities anathema to America’s best interests?
Elon Musk, who was the darling of the progressives a decade ago for his alternative energy ideas and creations, is now regarded as "evil" all because he supported Trump and is heading up this new idea.
If any Democratic administration suggested a new fiscal accountability department, the media would hail it as genius. But when it comes from Trump, it’s considered crazy.
Maybe it’s about time we tried "crazy" because while the swamp dwellers of Washington D.C. and Manhattan hang onto the status quo for dear life, it isn’t working for the average American.
