Another Academy Awards ceremony has come and gone, and the world is still reeling from war, hate and every form of turmoil imaginable.
While Oscar was light this year on political statements and virtue signaling, it's amazing that entertainment industry elitists in Hollywood still believe that Mainstreet America actually cares what they think because their celebrity status will save the world!
When I began watching the Oscars this past Sunday night, I knew full well that I was in for an evening of eye rolling and headshaking.
It is very hard to take seriously any person wearing a dress that costs more than what the average American makes in a year.
Or a tailor-made tuxedo featuring a dove that reads "Free Palestine," with a price tag that could build a school in Gaza — assuming Hamas doesn’t steal the funds to build more terror tunnels in the hope of murdering more Jews.
This is where I am supposed to say, "But I digress."
But that is exactly the point.
The ignorance and hypocrisy of the typical Hollywood progressive deserves my rolling eyes and serves as a reminder of why only their leftist choir takes them seriously.
To be fair, there were positive aspects to the evening.
Host Conan O’Brien offered little political commentary, which was a pleasant change compared to Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted three of the last four awards ceremonies that had a host.
Kimmel, before becoming a mouthpiece for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), hosted a sexist program on Comedy Central's "The Man Show."
The program, featuring ample-breasted young women jiggling and shaking their curves, has conveniently been forgotten by the left-wing "cancel culture" police.
Exploiting young women is acceptable if your politics meet Hollywood standards.
As a proud Jew and staunch Zionist, best actor winner Adrien Brody's comments regarding anti-semitism, while appreciated, are hard to take seriously knowing that he has been silent over the vehemently anti-Israel and recent claims of Jewish control and power (Vanity Fair, Dec. 13, 2024) publicly taken by his co-star Guy Pearce.
Why would anyone take you seriously when you will not even condemn the bigot sitting one seat away from you at the Oscars?
The most laughable moment of the evening was the anti-Israel film that won Best Documentary, "No Other Land." To the surprise of nobody who does not get their news from MSNBC or ABC's "The View," filmmakers found a self-loathing Israeli to help create a movie that depicted his country in a horrible light.
By tagging an Israeli to the picture, it permitted progressive Hollywood to display their true feelings about the people who created the business that made them rich and famous.
The sad irony is that the Arab film collaborators would never be able to show their faces in Gaza as their work with Jews would subject them to arrest, torture and execution by Hamas.
An honest film would have been a documentary of the LGBTQ community in Gaza titled, "Tossed off a Roof."
You would think, after this past Nov. 5, the entertainment industry would have had their "come to Jesus" moment --- realizing their endorsements and opinions are moot in America.
From Taylor Swift to Beyonce, the entertainment industry warmly embraced and enthusiastically campaigned for Kamala Harris.
From social media posts to appearing at campaign rallies, the entertainment industry came out in droves to advocate for the then-vice president.
You would think that while on the campaign trail and claiming to be a champion of working Americans, you would stop parading around celebrities who claim America is a horrible, racist, transphobic and misogynistic country.
Not to mention the Hollywood hypocrites publicly damning Americans for their carbon footprint while they hop the globe on private jets.
To be fair, the Democratic Party hierarchy listens to Hollywood.
George Clooney, according to reports, played a key role in Joe Biden’s stepping down from the campaign.
How did that work out for you?
I thought so.
