Every Democrat in the House and Senate voted against legislation supporters said would make it easier for pregnant students to finish their education.
Called the Pregnant Students' Rights Act, the legislation would have required schools to clearly communicate which accommodations and protections pregnant and parenting students are entitled to, according to Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Mich., chair of the House Education and Workforce Committee.
