Americans Worry AI Laws Could Stifle Speech

As concerned as Americans are about the rise of artificial intelligence, they are equally concerned about government legislation regulating AI that critics say could stifle free speech, including criticism of government officials.

An updated poll released by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), a group that defends fundamental rights on college campuses, showed that 72% of Americans are at least somewhat concerned about the everyday use of AI.
