OPINION
As we approach Election Day, Nov. 5, 2024, the Democratic National Committee has once again dusted off its old racist playbook.
How so?
In this regard, a brief history is in order.
For decades, and in some cases generations, their goal has been to weaponize their base, media, and other resources to intimidate and persecute any Black man or woman who decides to think for themselves, inclusive of voting for Donald J. Trump.
One would think that in 2024, people would be more sophisticated in their thought processes, especially considering what Black culture has endured for 400 years.
One would think they would reach a point where they say, "You know, I’m going to speak for myself and make my own decisions."
One would think they would get tired of the same old dog-whistle alarm every election cycle, saying how bad the Republicans are, or how bad former-President Trump was or is; just to satisfy their own special interests.
But . . . things are different now.
Mr. Trump is gaining more support, especially among Black men.
Much of this support comes from the stark contrast between the Trump administration and the Biden-Harris administration, particularly on issues like fuel prices, inflation, and housing.
The difference is like night and day.
So, outside of the same alarmist old dog whistle, the DNC, with Kamala Harris, has nothing to offer except the dismal record of the administration they’ve led — wars in the Mideast, poor decisions, such as leaving billions of dollars' worth of military equipment in Afghanistan.
That disastrous tragedy was recently celebrated with a parade using that very equipment.
As they say, you can't make this stuff up or write it.
It’s often revealed that the DNC will do everything they can to intimidate Blacks in every aspect. If you want to talk about voter suppression, voter intimidation, or voter persecution, just look at the DNC’s playbook.
They will literally attempt to destroy a Black business if they even talk to President Trump or consider what he has to say.
They will try to destroy a person’s reputation just because they had a meeting with Trump and wanted to hear his perspective.
"Here are some examples of articles covering instances where Democrats have been demonizing, mocking, or name-calling Black Republicans:
1.) Tim Scott and "Uncle Tim": After Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., delivered the Republican response to President Joe Biden's address to Congress in April 2021, the phrase "#UncleTim" trended on Twitter.
This was seen as a derogatory term, likening him to an "Uncle Tom," a term historically used to criticize Black individuals perceived as overly subservient to white authority.
2.) Herschel Walker: During the 2022 Georgia U.S. Senate race, Herschel Walker, a Black Republican and former NFL star, faced ridicule from some Democrats and media figures. Critics often focused on his political inexperience and controversial statements.
Conservative outlets argued that some of the criticism had racial overtones, especially given Walker's strong support for Donald Trump.
3.) Larry Elder, a conservative radio host who ran for governor of California in the 2021 recall election. He was portrayed negatively by many on the left. Elder faced criticism for his conservative views, and some of the attacks against him were seen as racially charged.
For example, he was called the "Black face of white supremacy" by some critics, which conservative media outlets like Fox News and The Daily Caller highlighted as an example of the left's hostility toward Black Republicans.
This writer's family members, especially in the South, were beaten, intimidated, and persecuted to give us the opportunity to go into a polling place and pick the candidate of our choice.
This writer's choice on Nov. 5, 2024, will be President Donald Trump.
