Biden Doc Responds to Oversight Request for Interview

By    |   Thursday, 29 May 2025 11:50 AM EDT

Former President Joe Biden's physician has met the Thursday deadline to respond to the House Oversight's request for a transcribed interview, Newsmax White House correspondent James Rosen reported.

"BREAKING: Sources say Dr. Kevin O'Connor, the personal physician who attested annually to the fitness for office of @JoeBiden, has contacted the @GOPoversight through an attorney to discuss a transcribed interview, ahead of today's close-of-business deadline and under threat of subpoena," Rosen posted on X.

"O'Connor was the last of five target witnesses to respond."

The nature of the contact suggests there will be a negotiation on the depth and process of a planned June 25 interview to be transcribed.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., sent letters to five prominent Biden administration officials to appear for transcribed interviews in June: Dr. Kevin O'Connor, former Domestic Policy Council Director Neera Tanden, and three prominent White House aides.

"The cover-up of President Biden's obvious mental decline is a historic scandal," Comer wrote in a statement releasing the five letters seeking "voluntary" interviews. "The American people deserve to know when this decline began, how far it progressed and who was making critical decisions on his behalf.

"Key executive actions signed by autopen, such as sweeping pardons for the Biden Crime Family, must be examined considering President Biden's diminished capacity.

"Today, we are calling on President Biden's physician and former White House advisers to participate in transcribed interviews so we can begin to uncover the truth."

Comer is hoping the doctor and others will help lead to transparency from high-level Biden White House officials, he told Newsmax on Wednesday.

"We believe this will lead to the higher-up people," Comer told "Wake Up America," "that have been mentioned as people who were actually running the country while Joe Biden was in his mental decline. So, we're going to try to get the truth to the American people.

"At the end of the day, this is very important because so much of what was done at the end of the Biden administration was done by executive order using that autopen.

"We don't believe that would be valid and that's important because Donald Trump's in court for a lot of things that he campaigned on, a lot of draining-the-swamp type issues, and they're being held up because of these executive orders that were authorized, perhaps, by unnamed bureaucrats and signed with an autopen."
