With just weeks remaining in President Joe Biden's term, Charlamagne tha God sparked debate by questioning whether Biden has "quietly quit" his duties during a conversation with Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, on "The Breakfast Club," Mediaite reported.
Speaking with Crockett, Charlamagne's inquiry fueled ongoing speculation about Biden's visibility and actions during his final weeks in office.
The exchange occurred after their Thursday phone interview, during which Crockett criticized President-elect Donald Trump and his ties to billionaire Elon Musk. Crockett also highlighted Biden's recent actions on criminal justice reform, noting his commutation of over 1,000 sentences and pardoning of dozens.
"My last question, do you think Biden has quietly quit?" Charlamagne asked.
"No, absolutely not," Crockett responded firmly.
Charlamagne, however, was less convinced. "We'll see. If he don't do nothing over the next 30 days, I'm going to say he quit," he replied.
Charlamagne's comments echo concerns in political circles, including the hosts of "Pod Save America," a podcast featuring former Obama administration aides. Earlier this week, Jon Lovett and Jon Favreau speculated about Biden's subdued presence as President-elect Donald Trump prepares for his inauguration.
"Joe Biden believes in tradition and institutions, and we should only have one president at a time. I think it's a surprising choice to allow it to be Donald Trump," Lovett remarked, adding a note of sarcasm.
Favreau criticized Biden's apparent withdrawal from the public eye, particularly in the context of Trump's high-profile appearances, including a recent press conference at Mar-a-Lago about artificial intelligence investments.
"It was more or less a standard presidential policy announcement, the main difference being: Trump isn't president yet! A fact that's getting easier and easier to forget, as Joe Biden seems to be disappearing from the public stage as his term comes to an end," Favreau observed.
