Trump: Thursday Arrest 'Strict Coordination' With 'Crooked' Joe

By    |   Monday, 21 August 2023 10:56 PM EDT

Former President Donald Trump is turning himself in Thursday for arrest on the indictment obtained by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who he blasted for campaigning on this event with "strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden's DOJ."

"Can you believe it? I'll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History," Trump wrote Monday in a Truth Social post.

"In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for 'murder,' but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL!"

This is a "witch hunt" all coordinated as "election interference" for Willis' politics, Trump continued.

"She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT," Trump wrote. "This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden's DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!"

Trump will face a $200,000 bond and orders not to send threatening social media messages as the former president awaits trial in Georgia, a court filing on Monday showed. The bond agreement signed by Trump's attorneys and Willis also set out release terms including restrictions on intimidating witnesses and obstructing justice.

"The failed District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Fani Willis, insisted on a $200,000 Bond from me," Trump added in a Truth Social post. "I assume, therefore, that she thought I was a 'flight' risk – I'd fly far away, maybe to Russia, Russia, Russia, share a gold domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again.

"Would I be able to take my very 'understated' airplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see. Probably not, I'd be much better off flying commercial – I'm sure nobody would recognize me!"

Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, and his co-defendants were indicted Aug. 14. Willis gave them until Friday at noon ET to surrender or face arrest.

Prosecutors in the case have proposed that the trial start March 4, while Trump's lawyers have asked for a 2026 trial.

Trump's surrender Thursday will come a day after the first Republican primary presidential debate that the former president does not plan to attend.
