Trump Praises Supreme Court Ruling as 'Very Well-Crafted'

By    |   Monday, 04 March 2024 02:24 PM EST

Former President Donald Trump praised the Supreme Court ruling that restored him to the Colorado ballot Monday, calling it an "important decision" that was "very well-crafted," CNN reported.

"I think it will go a long way toward bringing our country together, which our country needs," he said, speaking at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump also said he believes the decision "will be a unifying factor."

"They worked long, they worked hard, and frankly, they worked very quickly on something that will be spoken about 100 years from now and 200 years from now, extremely important," he added. "Essentially, you cannot take somebody out of a race because an opponent would like to have it that way."

Less than an hour after the high court handed down the ruling, the former president's campaign was reportedly already capitalizing on it, firing off a text to supporters announcing the decision and asking them to donate to his bid for a second White House term.

The high court's decision was delivered one day before Super Tuesday, when more than a dozen states and territories will hold primary elections, including Colorado.
