President-elect Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday night to boast about the 1,000 federal employees hired by his incoming administration and asked that those who worked with his GOP critics and suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome" not be recommended for jobs.
Trump mentioned a lengthy list of critics, including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in his first term; former Vice Presidents Mike Pence and Dick Cheney; John Bolton, his former national security adviser; Charles Koch, co-founder of Americans for Prosperity; former Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah; and former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo.; and former House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wyo.
"As of today, the incoming Trump Administration has hired over 1,000 people for The United States Government," Trump wrote. "They are outstanding in every way, and you will see the fruits of their labor over the coming years. We will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and it will happen very quickly!
"In order to save time, money, and effort, it would be helpful if you would not send, or recommend to us, people who worked with, or are endorsed by, Americans for No Prosperity (headed by Charles Koch), 'Dumb as a Rock' John Bolton, 'Birdbrain' Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, disloyal Warmongers Dick Cheney, and his Psycho daughter, Liz, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, General(?) Mark Milley, James Mattis, Mark Yesper, or any of the other people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, more commonly known as TDS. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Haley and Pence ran against Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, and the Cheneys endorsed Democrat Vice President Harris for November's election. Mattis was Trump's defense secretary in his first term, as was Mark Esper, and Milley was chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Trump reportedly has said that during his first administration, his unfamiliarity with Washington, D.C., caused him to hire several people who didn't share his political vision. He emphasized that the second time around, he wants to be sure he has loyal lieutenants under him.
