The Washington Post continues to suffer editorial blows, with two more reporters cutting ties with the newspaper.
Correspondents Ashley Parker and Michael Scherer are leaving the Post to join The Atlantic, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
The outlet added that the magazine has been in discussions to hire additional Post journalists. Puck reported Friday that reporter Josh Dawsey and White House reporter Tyler Pager were two of several other Post staffers "mulling a transfer or have already decided to exit."
Parker and Scherer's departures follow Matea Gold, an editor overseeing the Post's national staff and other departments, recently leaving to join the Times as a senior editor in its Washington bureau. The Atlantic hired Shane Harris, a former Post national security reporter.
The Post has endured turmoil the past six months, especially since the newspaper decided not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president in her race against Donald Trump.
Michele Norris, an opinion columnist and the first Black female host for National Public Radio, called the move not to support Harris a "terrible mistake" in announcing her resignation Oct. 27.
Norris' resignation came two days after that of Robert Kagan, who had been an editor-at-large.
Two weeks ago, it was reported two people had withdrawn their names to serve as executive editor of the Post.
Cliff Levy, an editor at The New York Times and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, and Anne Korblut, a former Post editor who now works at Meta's as vice president of global product content operations, took their names out of the running over disagreements with the newspaper's strategy, Axios reported.
In June, Executive Editor Sally Buzbee stepped down after three years at the top job.
The Atlantic, backed by billionaire investor Laurene Powell, is expanding before Trump's Jan. 20 inauguration and aims to "hire roughly a dozen new reporters and editors to beef up its politics coverage," the Times reported.
