Tesla CEO Elon Musk slammed Trump adviser Sergio Gor as a "snake" after the New York Post reported that Gor failed to submit himself to a standard background check.
"He's a snake," Musk tweeted late Wednesday.
Gor is the director of presidential personnel and charged with vetting around 4,000 members of President Donald Trump's team.
The Post reported that he has not submitted official paperwork about his own background.
Vice President JD Vance told Newsmax that Gor "led the effort to ensure committed, principled 'America First' advocates staff the president's government. He's done a great job and will continue to do so."
David Warrington, White House counsel, told Newsmax that Gor "is fully compliant with all applicable ethical and legal obligations. His security clearance is active; any insinuation he doesn't maintain a clearance is false."
Karoline Leavitt said Gor is "a trusted adviser to President Trump, and he has played a critical role in helping President Trump staff the most talented administration in history. It's sad the New York Post is engaging in baseless gossip rather than focusing on how the Trump administration is tackling the issues impacting our country and world."
A White House official told Newsmax that Gor helped Musk install many DOGE employees at agencies to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.
