George W. Bush Stays Mum on Whom He Will Vote for

By    |   Sunday, 08 September 2024 05:48 PM EDT

Former President George W. Bush has remained silent on how he will vote in this November's election.

The former president's office offered a brief "no" when asked by NBC News whether he would publicly endorse a candidate.

"President Bush retired from presidential politics years ago," his office said.

Bush's office said he did not vote for either major party candidate in the 2016 election, reported Fox News.

His decision to stay mum comes on the heels of his former Vice President Dick Cheney announcing he would break party lines and support Vice President Kamala Harris.

"In our nation's 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump," Cheney said in a statement. "He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again."
